A few wise words…read carefully

Uncategorized 1 Comment

What’s going on everyone? I leave the blogging world for an extended period of time and the whole economy takes a big dump. Now, I am in no way suggesting that the strength of the economy is in anyway connected to the frequency of my blogs, hey, just thought I’d throw it out there.

So life has been interesting lately. I’m not saying bad, just a lot of things going on. Work is busy, per the norm, people are in and out of town and I’m just kind of worn out after a very busy summer. But that’s ok, I’m sure there are plenty of people who worked longer, harder hours than I did. I will not complain, but only say that I’m glad I made it, I had fun and now I’m glad I get to have a bit of a more relaxed schedule.

I’m about ready to head out to the gym. I hope I can remember where it is. I haven’t been there since May, perhaps June at the very latest. I’m pretty excited about going back. I like going to the gym, I just wish it was on the way home and not further north from work. However, beggers cannot be choosers and I will be happy that I have a gym that I am able to be a part of and go to.

In a bit of breaking news, the Captain’s (sometimes known as Chris and Andy) have decided to move back to Lincoln Nebraska. They will certainly be missed, but that just means that there is one more possible road trip destination.

Perhaps the wise words are still on the way.  Who knows, stay tuned…

Home & Garden

Ramblings 1 Comment

For two weeks running, the Home & Garden section of the newspaper has been one of the more entertaining. This weeks feature article “5 things to know about buying a toilet” was a great follow-up to “How to choose a rake that’s right for you”.

1. “Measure”… This is pretty self-explanatory, no need to elaborate.

2. “Two-piece or one-piece?”…hahaha! Just so you know, “One-pice toilets are generally lower and sleeker…and often have more complex mechanisms.” Incase you were thinking of installing a toilet by yourself, the article warned that a one-piece is not a do-it-yourselfer job.

3. “Enough oomph”…very important.  Does your toilet have enough oomph?

4. “But will it clog?”…yep

5. “Form versus function”…it is warned not to pick a toilet just for it’s look.  You must make sure that there is function. This is especially important when buying designer toilets.
