Contrary to popular belief, it happens to be spelled with 2 a’s and not 2 s’s.  I have always known this to be an issue for atleast 90% of people that have tried, which is odd given the fact that I have never seen 2 s’s.  Is it the fact that people just don’t pay attention?  Which really doesn’t make any sense seeing that one will probably have only seen the correctly spelling.  What is it about the name that draws people to the wrong spelling?  Sure, if you try it phonetically, 2 a’s surely doesn’t make sense.  It’s language though and especially given the english language, when was the last time that you counted on something being spelled the way it sounds?  A good portion of the time, this will lead you down the path to incorrect spelling.  That particular point makes this entire blog rather ironic given my spelling ability or lack there of.  However, given a person’s name, I go out of my way to try and make sure that I get it correct.  This point is especially true if I have seen it in writing or have access to the correct spelling.  What is the point of all of this madness?  Simple.  My name is spelled with 2 a’s and 1 s.  I’m not even lying.  True statement.  If you scroll to the top of the screen you can see for yourself.
