4 awesome ass-numbing hours…pt 1
This coming Tuesday I am going see Tristan and Isolde at the Lyric Opera. If only I had taken Dr. Murphy’s class in grad school about Tristan…what was I thinking taking Midieval & Renaissance instead? Oh yeah, I had too. Requirments are troublesome to the mind. Maybe I should have learned more in undergrad and this whole blog would have taken a completely different shape. Putting the past aside, let’s take a look to the future. I’ll be enjoying Wagner’s opera, taking in the hours of orchestral color and tragic passion…

Yeah, I saw Tristan and Isolde last year and I have to say it was much more interesting after having taken that class. All the motivs came rushing back. Actually it was mostly Dr. Murphy yelling out chords that came rushing back. It’s a really good opera though and I’m kind of jealous.
